On July 23rd, 2025, two members of The Bee Foundation (TBF) team traveled to Washington, DC for two impactful days of advocacy. That evening, they had the honor of attending Arnold & Porter’s Summer Soiree. TBF is incredibly grateful to Arnold & Porter for their continued partnership and unwavering support of brain aneurysm awareness and advocacy. Their generosity has enabled TBF to meet with congressional offices year after year, helping to drive important conversations about the critical need for increased research funding.
The following day, July 24th, TBF held six additional meetings with congressional offices representing New York, New Hampshire, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the Energy and Commerce Committee. While there were many insightful discussions about brain aneurysm awareness, our primary goal was to portray the critical importance of a key piece of legislation: Ellie’s Law.
Ellie’s Law is a bipartisan bill focused on increasing funding for brain aneurysm research, treatment, and prevention through the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) at the NIH. If passed, the bill would authorize $20 million annually for five years for brain aneurysm research, potentially saving thousands of lives and improving outcomes for survivors.
Currently, in the 119th Congress, there are currently 2 Senators and 19 Representatives co-sponsoring Ellie’s Law. This builds on the momentum from the 118th Congress, where 65 Representatives and 6 Senators co-sponsored Ellie’s Law as a result of the tireless advocacy of the brain aneurysm community.
If you are looking to make a difference, you can help by reaching out to your Representatives or Senators! Call or email them today and ask them to co-sponsor Ellie’s Law! Please visit our Advocacy Toolkit to learn more about how to get involved.
