Every September, The Bee Foundation asks one thing of the people who follow our work: make some noise.
Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month is our chance to pull the topic out of hushed hospital hallways and into ordinary conversation, where it belongs. Most people don’t think about brain aneurysms until one touches their family directly. We’d like that to change before it has to.
We’ve built a page on our website just for this month: a home base for the stories, statistics, and action items that matter most right now. If you want one link to send a friend who’s asking “what is a brain aneurysm, anyway,” that’s the one. Check it out at: https://thebeefoundation.org/2026-brain-aneurysm-awareness-month/.
How to get involved this September
Donate. Research doesn’t run on good intentions alone. Every gift, big or small, goes toward the work of finding better ways to detect and treat brain aneurysms before they become emergencies.
Show up at an event. We’ve got a full month planned. Lace up for the 2026 TBF Race Series and run a race near you, or create your own if there isn’t one nearby yet. Two of our ambassadors are publishing their aneurysm stories in their own books this September, and you can be there when they do. One of our survivors is spending her celebratory day cleaning up the beach instead of sitting still, and she’d love the company. Pick the one that fits your calendar, they all fund the same work.
Start a personal fundraiser. Turn a birthday, a milestone, or just a Tuesday into a fundraising page. People give to people first and organizations second, so a page with your name on it will often raise money a general donation link never could.
Join a support group. Awareness Month isn’t only about reaching new donors. If you’re a survivor or you love one, we run support groups built for exactly that, and September is as good a time as any to find your people.
Join the #SpreadTheBuzz Challenge
A single bee doesn’t make honey on its own. It takes the whole hive moving together — and that’s exactly what we’re asking of you this September.
The #SpreadTheBuzz Challenge is a pass-it-on awareness chain running through Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month. The idea is simple: one fact, shared enough times, does more good than one perfect post ever could.
Here’s how to join:
- Grab a fact. This month’s Fact Friday posts are the easiest place to start — but any Fact Friday from our page works, so feel free to dig back through the archive too.
- Share it to your Instagram Story or feed, in your own words or a screenshot straight from the post.
- Tag three friends and challenge them to do the same.
- Use #SpreadTheBuzz so we can find your post — we’ll be reposting participants to our Story all month long.
That’s the whole challenge. No donation required, no special skills, just one fact and three tags. The more of us who pass it along, the further it travels — and the more people learn the signs that could save a life.
Ready? Post your fact and tag us @thebeefoundation.
Get ready to spread the buzz this Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month.
