To our incredible sponsors, attendees, and supporters: thank you for making the 2025 Summer Golf Classic an outstanding success! Thanks to your generosity, we raised an incredible $185,000 for brain aneurysm prevention. These funds will directly support The 2026 TBF Preventative Research Grant Program, bringing us one step closer to prevention and early detection. Beyond the impact, we shared a memorable day filled with friendly golf competition, delicious food and drinks, and, most importantly, the joy of community and connection.

With 180 guests in attendance, the Union League Liberty Hill was bustling with excitement and enthusiasm on June 3rd, 2025. After an eventful day of golf, the evening proceeded with a lively cocktail hour, a delicious reception dinner, and an engaging program.
Attendees were able to bid on several highly anticipated auction items including: (1) VIP Philadelphia Eagles Training Day Passes, (2) 2026 PGA Tickets at Aronimink Country Club, (3) Shooting Clays Experience at Pintail Point, (4) Two Union League Foursomes at the Lafayette Hill and National locations.
Guests were deeply moved by our speakers: Brain Aneurysm Advocate Kevin O’Neill, TBF Scientific Advisory Board member Dr. Jan-Karl Burkhart, and Brain Aneurysm survivor Magaly Urban. Keynote speaker Kevin O’Neill, Partner at Arnold & Porter and passionate advocate, delivered a powerful address on how the loss of his god-daughter Ellie Helton inspired a federal advocacy movement to raise awareness and increase federal funding to bolster the work of private foundations like TBF.
Magaly Urban, brain aneurysm survivor and former patient of Dr. Burkhart, shared a remarkable story of resilience, hope, and the incredible tale of the man who saved her life. By advocating for herself and knowing her family history, Magaly found her aneurysm prior to rupture and endured two life-saving treatments, however, she was open about the tremendous struggles she experienced and the support The Bee Foundation offered her in recovery. Dr. Burkhart, Associate Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, offered meaningful insights into the recent advancements in identification and treatment, a result of both private and federally funded research. He ended by stressing the urgency of early detection, and emphasizing how many more critical questions need to be answered related to aneurysm discovery and management.
While the cause and prevention of brain aneurysms are still not fully understood, each day brings us closer to answers. That is why all proceeds from the 2025 TBF Summer Golf Classic will directly support the 2026 TBF Preventative Research Grant Program. These vital funds will enable TBF to continue investing in groundbreaking pilot research, including studies on potential biomarkers, aneurysm gene expression, and aneurysm wall imaging. Each of these efforts, along with the unwavering support of individuals like you, shares a singular, powerful goal: to prevent brain aneurysms before they rupture.
The Bee Foundation thanks each and every one of you for believing in our long-term goal of living in a world where brain aneurysm ruptures are preventable, lives are saved, and the destruction from this horrible disease eliminated.
There is still time to reach our goal of $200,000!
We look forward to seeing you all again next year on Tuesday, June 9th for the 2026 TBF Summer Golf Classic!
